There are many things which affect he feel of a room, but perhaps the most impactful are color and texture. When interior decora- tor Suzy Grote was approached by a male client to redecorate his
home, she utilized several interesting color combinations and textural elements to create a space
suited for a man, but that was not overly masculine. So Grote balanced the needs of her client,
who is an avid hunter, with her own sophisticated
design sensibility to create a home that is rich with
intricate and thoughtful details, but also bespeaks
of the client’s interests and personality. In the
spacious living room, Grote chose a soothing color
scheme of taupe, cream and canary yellow to create
a lively and welcoming room that mixes differing textural elements to add depth and interest.
Whether it is the paneled walls that were painted
a pale blue grey creating a cool backdrop against
the warm colors that inhabit the rest of the space
or the interesting accent fabrics like the mushroom
